Day 10: Lugo to Ferreira, 28.4 km, 17.61 miles
I had read that the weather on the Primitivo was sketchy at times, so I stuffed my minimal 30-liter Deuter backpack accordingly – rain jacket, poncho, fleece gloves, fleece hat, fleece muffler, puffer jacket (I don’t like to be cold), and plenty of other clothes in case of long exposure to rain. So far, I’d been lucky with the weather, just a few brief showers. Today was the first day of substantial rain and cold. No worries, I was prepared…

Coming from arid, south-central Texas (a region also in the grips of a drought), these verdant Asturian-Galician country sides are satisfying. And the rivers with running water, love them. Even the mud puddles in the middle of the paths are pleasant.
Back home in Texas, I’ll show these pictures to my cattle, they are not impressed or happy for me. Upon their deaths, I hope they are resurrected-reincarnated in the green hills of Galicia!
