Logroño
Our day of rest couldn’t have been better planned, but as you know by now, we didn’t plan much of anything. It happened to be the weekend of the Festival of San Bernabé, a perfect time to rest and be a tourist.
We checked out of the Marriott and went in search of a place to leave our backpacks and lay our heads at the end of the day. The first two albergues/hostels we went to full. At the second, the nice lady that ran the albergue told us that everything would be full because of the festival.
In the spirit of Camino hospitality, she got busy on the phone looking for a place for us to stay. After a couple of calls, she hit pay dirt, negotiating 2 beds for us at a Seminary just a few blocks away. Their dorm rooms were mostly empty during the summer. To cap off her hospitable act, she grabbed me by the arm and dragged me outside to show us how to get there. A few minutes later we were checked into our room!

We spent the remainder of the day walking around Logroño enjoying the sights and sounds of the festival weekend!
